Orville Franklin Nelson, age 93 of Prescott, WI, died on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at his home, surrounded by the love of his family. Orville was born on September 15, 1928 in Trimbelle Township Pierce County, WI; to parents Arthur and Clara (Hilden) Nelson. He attended school in Ellsworth. On January 17, 1948, Orville was united in marriage to Doris Johnson. Their union in marriage was blessed with six children, two generations of grandchildren, and over 73 years of love and devotion.

Orville was a simple man, He appreciated the quite times being outdoors and staying busy. He was a hard worker, which is something he passed onto his family. His family was most important to him; especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren as they were the apple of his eye. Orville was particularly fond of his John Deere tractors and fast cars! He was also very proud of being part of the Pierce County Sheriffs reserves and being the Director of the Ambulance service in Ellsworth for many years. Last but not the least; many will remember Orville for his years in the greater Pierce County as a plumber. He not only created many customers, but lasting friendships as a result!

Orville is survived by his children, Nancy (John) Haarstad, Jim (Jane) Nelson, Ron (Suzi) Nelson, Gloria Nelson, Roger (Cindy) Nelson, and Mike (Terri) Nelson; twenty grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. • Our sympathies to the Nelson Family. Many fond “growing up” memories of Orville and Doris visiting the Boyd and Martha Nelson Family farm in Trimbelle. Also, remembering the “thrashing team” of Nelsons, Boyd, Art, Don, Bob, and Orville. Great family…nice guy.
    Sincerely,
    Judy Nelson Lindstrom

  • What are the amazing man. Uncle Orville, you gave your heart to others unconditionally. I hope you knew what an impact you had on your family. Since I was a young child, my mother would tell me stories about her beloved Minnesota/Wisconsin family… And your name was always at the top of the list. Thank you for helping to make her the woman she became, thus having an impact on my sister and I. And thank you for showing us the love you had for Doris. It was inspirational. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
